After ranking among the top scorers nationwide in A/L Mathematics during my senior year of high school, I earned a prestigious scholarship to study Engineering at Sri Lanka’s top-ranked engineering University, the University of Moratuwa. This accomplishment shifted my professional football dreams, limiting my passion to the university level, where I cherished representing Moratuwa in both Football and Rugby, creating unforgettable memories.

Sports Achievements

⚽ Football has always been my true passion. Throughout my middle and high school years, I represented St. Peter’s College and played for various professional clubs in Sri Lanka. These experiences shaped my early development as a player, allowing me to compete at a high level from a young age.

When I joined the University of Moratuwa, I continued my football journey, becoming the leading goal scorer for four consecutive years. Competing against some of the finest youth national players in Sri Lanka, I earned the Most Valuable Player award in my freshman year. By the time I reached my senior year, I had the honor of captaining the team to victories against some of the best schools, universities, professional clubs, and defense academies in the country.

🏉 Rugby came into my life unexpectedly during my time at the University of Moratuwa. Although I hadn’t played the sport during my school years, I saw the opportunity as a challenge and embraced it by taking on the role of placekicker. This allowed me to make a significant contribution to the team, and together, we made history by winning the university’s first-ever rugby championship. With a roster of youth national players and top athletes from prestigious rugby schools, we went on to achieve back-to-back championships. These victories remain among the most memorable moments of my sporting career.

For my outstanding contributions to both Football and Rugby, I was honored to receive the University of Moratuwa colors and the Sri Lanka University Sports Association (SLUSA) Certificate of Honor, cementing my status as one of the top university athletes in Sri Lanka.

🏏 Cricket Hobbies: Beyond my experiences in ⚽ Football and 🏉 Rugby, I have a deep passion for cricket, which I follow closely as a hobby. I love exploring how Sri Lanka rose to cricketing greatness in the late 1990s and 2014, as well as reflecting on the challenges faced from 2014 to 2023. This journey through the sport adds to my appreciation and understanding of the game.
